In the Summer of 1996, Thomas Shelby Stubbs II., died of renal failure; a result of advanced HIV. His death marked the end of a 30-year old family tragedy that until now has never been openly discussed. The documentary film, 'a final peace', is the story of one family's real-life struggle to cope with its history of pedophilia and incest. Written and directed by a family member (and survivor), the film delivers an unflinching look at the traumatic effects of two of the oldest taboos in society.
